Courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, The Beat can exclusively reveal the publisher will release a print edition of Dan Schkade‘s hit WEBTOON series Lavender Jack next year. Written, drawn, and lettered by Schkade, with colors by Jenn Manley Lee, and logo designs by Dylan Todd, Lavender Jack is a retro vigilante tale set in an alternate early 20th century Europe, that ran from 2018 to 2022. The new edition, out March 2026, will feature a new cover, and updated interior art.

The City of Gallery is a place of science, diversity, and wealth at the dawn of the 20th century. But lurking deep within is a corrupt ruling class squeezing the city for all its worth. Enter: LAVENDER JACK — a devilish vigilante whose fighting prowess and arsenal of advanced technology make him a nightmare for Gallery’s elites. Those pulling the strings aren’t about to loosen their grip on this fair city without a fight, and they have some devils of their own! Collects season one [of three] of the WEBTOON series (episodes 1-48).

Schkade says in a statement, “I’ve lost count of how many people have asked me if there was ever going to be a print edition of Lavender Jack. Champagne problems to be sure, but it feels amazing to finally be able to put a collection in their hands. And partnering with Dark Horse to do so? A dream. Reassembling thousands of vertical scrolling panels into a traditional graphic novel has been both laborious and rewarding, and whether you’re a longtime fan or a new reader, I truly can’t wait for you to see it.”

The book marks Schkade’s second project at Dark Horse, following 2023’s contemporary superhero series Saint John. It continues the ongoing partnership between Dark Horse and WEBTOON, who announced that they’d be bringing several Dark Horse titles to the platform earlier this year. Early editorial, and WEBTOON editorial, were respectively provided on the book by Bekah Caden and Bre Boswell.

Lavender Jack Vol. 1 will be released in bookstores in paperback on March 3, 2026, and comics shops the following day. It will retail at 330 pages for $29.99. Pre-order now from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your local bookstore or comic shop, which you can find out more details on via Comic Shop Locator or Bookshop.org. In the meantime, you can take a look at the original version of the comic at WEBTOON, and read Schkade’s current project — the revival of Flash Gordon — at Comics Kingdom.

  1. Strong recommendation for Schkade’s Flash Gordon strip. It’s brilliant, and the only reason I’m subscribing to King Features online site.

I’ll definitely get this when Dark Horse releases it.
