Fans may have been hoping that a new Superman trailer would be released last month in honor of Superman Day. Sadly that was not the case. But as the saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait,” as today Warner Bros. and DC Studios unveiled a new Superman trailer.
Starring David Corenswet as the titular character along with Rachel Brosnahan playing intrepid reporter Lois Lane, it’s no exaggeration to say the reaction to the first trailer was overwhelmingly positive, thanks in large part to breakout star Krypto. Though not featured as prominently as the first trailer, the beloved canine is still showcased in the new trailer. Specifically, Krypto can be seen defending the Fortress of Solitude from the Engineer (María Gabriela De Faría) who appears to be breaking in alongside Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult ).
Though DC Studios is still keeping much of the film under wraps, this new Superman trailer offers some new insights regarding the plot of the film when the Man of Steel gets defensive when Lois Lane grills him over “illegally entering a country” to stop a war. The country in question is presumably Boravia, a fictional European country in the DC Universe, that was referenced in the first trailer.
The new Superman trailer also features more of the “Justice Gang made up of Nathan Filion as Guy Gardner Green Lantern, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. Though it was assumed that Metamorpho played by Anthony Carrigan was part of the team, the trailer reveals he may in fact be a prisoner.
Superman will be in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning 9 July 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
