Kodansha is doubling down on its partnership with ComiXology with Monday’s announcement that the manga publisher is going day-and-date with the platform’s Unlimited subscription service. Anyone with a subscription plan will be able to read new releases of manga including Attack on Titan, EDENS ZERO, The Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm, and more, same-day-as-Japan. Previously, only a handful of Kodansha titles were available through simulpub over a variety of services including ComiXology, Crunchyroll, and Kindle.

Recently, Kodansha also announced that all of Shaman King would be coming to ComiXology under its Originals umbrella, and is the second publisher in recent weeks to make the day-and-date commitment with ComiXology, following Archie Comics’ announcement in late September. The move increases visibility for Kodansha’s manga and, potentially, could move readers’ eyes away from fan translations and onto official ones, especially for those who already have Unlimited subscriptions.
