Heavy Metal Magazine is returning in a major way, as the recently revived comic magazine will be available at comic shop retailers in 2025.

In 1977, four art-house visionaries decided to make science fiction, fantasy and horror the home of pop culture… It has taken over 45years, but while Heavy Metal has always been here, in the zeitgeist, other brands have attempted to claim our birthright. And now, we’ve come to reclaim our rightful throne of genre. Come dive into the worlds of Heavy Metal – past, present, and future – as we boldly chart a course for expanding the minds and pushing the boundaries of pop culture.

In a press release, the editorial team behind Heavy Metal #1, Frank Forte, Dave Kelly, and Chris Thompson, shared that Sergio Gerasi will be tackling a new book bringing back Guido Crepax’s Valentina, which is being authorized by the Crepax estate. Michael Conrad (Batgirls) will write a story with Ilias Kryiazis (Collapser), and Simon Bowland called Millstone.

Check out new covers by Keron Grant for Grimaldi, Tula Lotay on Taarna, and a look at Sixella by Janevsky.

Additionally, works by Antonio Segura, Jose Ortiz, Janevsky, Vicente Segrelles, Leah Moore, Anna Morozova, Ellie Wright, Tom Napolitano, Joseph Michael Linsner, Fernando Dagnino Guerra, John Workman, Paul Kircher, David Quinn, Tim Vigil, Jim Rugg and Jonathan Wayshak and more will appear in Heavy Metal #1.

Heavy Metal #1 will be available at comic book shops on April 30 and retail for $14.99 USD. You can pre-order at your LCS now.
