The good news is that Andrew MacLean is back. The bad news is that he’s got a Death Fight Forever on his hands. But since its another stylishly violent fantasy comic from the creator of Head Lopper, I guess that’s good news too!

This time out MacLean is teaming up with artist Alexis Ziritt (Space Riders) as co-creator.  Death Fight Forever was successfully Kickstarted as a graphic novel, but the serialized version launches from Image Comics in February 2026 as a five issue mini series.

As with Head Lopper, it’s a genre-mixing mashup. This time out, the themes are retro games, kung fu, and weird characters.

In Death Fight Forever, super-thief bruiser brothers, Crash and Bash Biggle, jump into action to help Commander Thunderfang fight inter-dimensional crime boss, Lord Slyther. But a run-in with Marla Mendoza, leader of the COPZ gang and Slyther’s most formidable loyalist, changes the course of Bash’s life forever.

Death Fight Forever was born from a love of ’90s beat ‘em up video games and a desire to write a comic that highlights some of the coolest art styles of our time,” said MacLean.

The PR on this was a bit light on just who does what, but whoever is doing it, the art is quite bold. Issue #1 launches at comic book shops on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 with three covers:
