With the Fantastic Four-N-One pizza offer up and running, Little Caesars has released a spectacular trailer to help spread the word in a way that is sure to make fans of Jack Kirby blush.

The trailer, directed by First Steps production designer Kasra Farahani, features a clever recreation of the 1961 cover for Fantastic Four #1 illustrated by the King of Comics himself, Jack Kirby. Those familiar with the image know that not only does it feature the titular team on their first encounter with the fantastical ever, but also a giant monster called Giganto that’s become iconic due to the monumentality of it in comics history.

It’s not often fans get such a treat in the form of a promotional campaign commercial, but Little Caesars has really gone all out for this. To an extent, it’s doing a fair amount of world building that both appeals to longtime fans and to newcomers alike. It actually comes off across more as a mini movie rather than just a commercial for pizza.

Marvel Studios certainly has high box office hopes for Fantastic Four, and projects such as this one are but an attempt to make a big showing at the box office even more impactful. While the recent Thunderbolts did inspire a bit of excitement for the MCU, it didn’t necessarily shake off the fatigue that had set in already. It’s fair to say that a bloated lineup of streaming series that varied in quality and a set of soulless main features that barely moved the needle haven’t garnered much momentum going into the summer. As it stands, it’s up to the Fantastic Four to right the ship.

Marvel’s Little Caesars partnership is ticking off all the right boxes. The Fantastic Four-N-One pizza has a clever four-pair of ingredients setup that honors the license and is fun to eat while the newly released commercial gives fans something they’ve been hoping to see in film for years. Superhero movies looking for smart partnerships should take note. Little Caesars is giving a masterclass on how to promote movies with pizza.
