The masterminds behind Amazon Prime’s The Boys series didn’t miss a beat when they turned Donald Trump’s NFT announcement into pure satirical excellence. In a tweet from the Vought International Twitter account, the new Homelander digital collectible card was on full display, showing the Supe (Antony Starr) proudly posing against Vought’s HQ in the background. The parallels between the questionable, unhinged Homelander and the former president are not hard to see, so what better way to celebrate that than to poke fun at Trump’s ridiculous (and pricey) self-portraits that place him in various action poses and superhero costumes? The Boys executive producer Eric Kripke has never hidden the connections between Homelander and Trump.Starr joined in on the fun on his Instagram:
Digital cards? A few years ago Topps was going to do digital baseball cards but after two days the plan was dropped because collectors complained, “Hey, the whole idea of cards is getting something I can keep in my house!” I don’t see the point in digital cards at all. It is like collecting something which is only imaginary.
