It an exciting time for Diamond head Steve Geppi — not only is his long brewing entertainment museum slated to open in a few weeks, but he will sponsor the next Balitmore Celebrity Golf Classic:
T

he golf tournament, to be held Sept. 6-10, will bring 60 sports and entertainment celebrities to the Baltimore area over the course of five days at Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa. Confirmed players include former Orioles Mike Bordick, Mickey Tettleton and Gregg Olson and former pro athletes including Jim McMahon, Goose Gossage and Rollie Fingers.

200608091505Geppi’s Entertainment Museum at Camden Yards, a 16,000-square-foot museum which will celebrate pop culture and comic book history, is slated to open Sept. 8. “This golf event adds to an already big weekend for Baltimore and combines the opening of my new museum with a fun event that helps a great cause,” said museum founder Steve Geppi, CEO of Diamond Comic Distributors in Timonium.

Also that weekend, the Baltimore Comic-con, which will doubtless have some tie to the festivities, and the Harvey Awards.

Ah, Rollie Fingers.

  1. Damn, even in Baltimore, I’m probably not that big of a sports or entertainment celebrity. Which is too bad, because right before Wizard World Chicago, I shot a 60.
Sure, it was on nine holes, but that’s really only a small detail.

  2. ah, Baltimore. Since my younger brother moved there, I’ll be sure to catch the opening of the museum.
