The fourth Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer, which was attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash during its fourth week in theaters, has been officially released online:
The footage sees Shuri/Black Panther (Letitia Wright), King M’Baku (Winston Duke) of Wakanda, and a consortment of Dora Milaje head to the desert; a group of Talokans, including Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejía) and Namora (Mabel Cadena), are also shown, suggesting this area is a drained Talokan. It’s then revealed who the Wakandans are meeting: Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) of the Fantastic Four, having made his way from Earth-828 after the mid-credits tease in Thunderbolts*.
The characters’ cinematic meeting is a significant one, as the Black Panther(s) and Wakanda were originally introduced in the pages of 1966’s Fantastic Four #52; similarly, Namor made his first Silver Age appearance in 1962’s Fantastic Four #4. This was reportedly the last trailer meant to debut with Fire and Ash, meaning title villain Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) remains conspicuously absent, despite being the Four’s longtime nemesis. The character made his MCU debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘s mid-credits scene, but for now, fans will have to wait longer to see him face off with Pedro Pascal‘s Reed Richards.
Marvel Studios also launched a “doomsday clock” stream, counting down the days until the film’s release on December 18:
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday will also mark the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, the lead cast of Thunderbolts*, the original movie X-Men, and the rest of The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘s main cast.
It will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, due out December 17, 2027, and be preceded by Spider-Man: Brand New Day (which doesn’t have a trailer yet) on July 31, 2026. In the meantime, the MCU will continue on Disney+ with Wonder Man (releasing in its entirety on January 27), Daredevil: Born Again season two in March, a Punisher special, and VisionQuest later this year.
