Next month, BOOM! Studios will release Fence: Redemption #2. The latest installment in the four-issue miniseries from BOOM!’s Boom!Box imprint comes from the creative team of writer C.S. Pacat, artist Johanna the Mad, colorist Joana Lafuente, and letterer Jim Campbell. Today, ahead of its final order cut-off date, The Beat is pleased to present an early preview of the issue.

Here’s how BOOM! describes Fence: Redemption #2:

Old schools and old exes bring Seiji to a boiling point.

While Seiji and Jesse exchange blows with their words, Nicolas works to master a new move, and finally gets the chance to face his bully in combat…

Along with a main cover by Johanna the Mad, Fence: Redemption #2 will also sport variant covers by Magdalena Pagowska and LySandra Vuong.

Fence launched from BOOM! Studios in 2017 as a four-issue miniseries, though it was quickly upgraded to an ongoing the following year. After twelve issues and three collected editions the series changed formats from single issues to original graphic novels. The first such OGN, Fence: Rivals, was released in 2020, and another, subtitled Rise, came out last year. Redemption marks the series’ return to the single-issue format, though in the announcement for the series no indication was made of why the switch was being made.

Check out the preview pages, as well as the variant covers by Pagowska and Vuong, below. Fence: Redemption #2 (of 4) is due out in stores and digitally on Wednesday, July 5th. The preorder cutoff date for the issue is today, June 12th. A second printing of the first issue of the series is also available for preorder through today.
