The first volume of Oni Press’s horror-fantasy The Autumn Kingdom will return for a second printing after high demand. The second printing will feature a beautiful new cover by artist Christopher Mitten using dark blue green and midnight purple along with three pairs of glowing eyes appearing from within the dense forest.
Written by Cullen Bunn, illustrated by Mitten, with coloring by Francesco Segala, and lettering provided by Taylor Esposito, the first volume of The Autumn Kingdom has received overwhelmingly positive praise with The Beat calling it a “compellingly told, wonderful and dark fantasy story perfect for both younger readers and genre fans.”
The story follows a bestselling author named Andrew Kier who holes himself up with his family in a remote cabin at the edge of a Swedish forest to finish his latest dark fantasy novel. His two daughters, Sommer and Winter, go exploring and come across a clearing full of ancient statues including a warrior queen missing her swordhand and weapon. When their parents get snatched, Sommer and Winter must now find an ancient relic to save their parents and themselves.

Fans who want to experience the magic of The Autumn Kingdom with the new cover will need to place their orders by Sept. 9 to secure their copy. The second printing goes on sale on Oct. 2 and is priced at $4.99.
