So begins the latest issue in AfterShock Comics’ futuristic Western about the divide between urban and rural communities, which is due out from the publisher August 12. Those of you have been reading the book are already familiar, but Join the Future is a tense and exciting tale about a young girl whose rural hometown was essentially wiped off the map by powers that want her to live in a city. It’s by writer Zack Kaplan, artist Piotr Kowalski, colorist Brad Simpson, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.
