Vault Comics is adding another installment to its popular Barbaric universe next month. Barbaric: The Long Death #1 is set to debut on December 17, with writer Michael Moreci and artist Nathan Gooden leading the charge. Colorist Fabi Maques and letterer Jim Campbell round out the creative team. The first issue will also sport covers by Gooden, Pete Caroll, Brett Bean, and Jim Mahfood. Look for a Corin Howell Lilith crossover cover as well as a NSFW black bag cover from Luana Vecchio.

Wha–you didn’t think we’d come back? BARBARIC loves you! AXE LOVES YOU! And he’s giving you his heart, in the form of THE LONG DEATH #1. Our heroes slaughter their way ever closer to the answers to their big questions. Owen learns all about his curse; Soren learns about her curse; Axe gets drunk. The consequences are…BARBARIC.

“I am so excited that Barbaric is back once again. The stakes have never been bigger for Owen, Soren, and Axe–we’re digging deeper into each of their pasts, which will inevitably inform their future,” Moreci said in a statement. “A lot of changes are in store and, as always, it’s going to be epic, it’s going to be bloody, it’s going to be Barbaric!”

“I can’t wait to get Barbaric back on shelves. I was thrilled to be a part of Post Malone’s Big Rig creative team and learned a ton in the process. With the continuation of Barbaric, I will be applying some of what I learned to the new pages,” Gooden added. “The thing that has me most excited for the return is the addition of a new character that is unbelievably funny but important to the backstory of our heroes Owen and Soren. Mike has really upped the stakes with action and drama pouring out on almost every page.”
