Over a year ago, DC Comics relaunched their New 52 universe with Rebirth #1. The special, in addition to restoring lost elements to the DC Universe’s timeline and reinvigorating the lineup with a new sense of hope, also introduced several new mysteries. Two of the most talked about ones are the Button and Mr. Oz, nods to Alan Moore’s and Dave Gibbons’ classic Watchmen series. While the Button has been explored and will be further so in this fall’s Doomsday Clock event, the identity and motives of Mr. Oz, who is speculated to be Watchmen‘s Ozymandias, have been somewhat more elusive.

Now though, in next Wednesday’s Action Comics #987, DC is laying all their cards on the table. The issue begins the highly anticipated “The Oz Effect” arc, which promises the answer the question we’ve all been asking for ages. Are you ready to find out who Mr. Oz is? Get your first big hint after the jump in the Comics Beat’s exclusive preview of the issue.

  1. Viktor Bogdanovic actually does have a similar style to Capullo. I like what he did early on in New Super-Man. This story has me amped to see what’s to come.

  2. I thought the same thing too… At first glance thought it was Greg Capullo. I hope they keep this artist around for a while because I really like his style and what I am seeing.
