Dungeons & Dragons is hitting the high sea in a big way this year. In addition to the recent release of Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Wizards of the Coast also partnered with game developer Ludia for Warriors of Waterdeep, a turn-based mobile RPG. In the game, players need to summon a team of heroes to save the city of Waterdeep from powerful, dark forces. Players will battle monsters from the Forgotten Realms in tactical, turn-based combat.

Like other games in this vein, players can level up and upgrade their heroes by playing, collecting free daily chests, and winning rewards in limited-time events.

“We are excited to bring the Dungeons & Dragons experience to mobile devices,” said Ludia CEO Alex Thabet in a statement. “We believe fans of the franchise will find Warriors of Waterdeep stays true to the spirit of Dungeons & Dragons with challenging storylines and innovative turn-based gameplay.”

Warriors of Waterdeep is now available to download for free, with in-app purchases, on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. The game has a real-time player-vs-player mode where teams can compete to earn trophies, collect rewards and unlock new arenas. Check out some promotional images below.
