Diamond has released their Top Ten list, covering direct market sales for October, and Blackest Night spells Biggest Sales for DC, as they have the top six comics for the month. Marvel remains the top publisher, and OLD MAN WOLVERINE was the top graphic novel. Perhaps the biggest surprise for us — the strong showing for Dark Horse’s NOIR, coming in at #5 on the GN list, with very little fanfare. Complete charts below the cut:

Nice to see DC pulling closer to Marvel with what has been (so far) a very entertaining story/event.
Can’t agree with that “Old Man Logan” book sitting atop the GN chart though. That ending was total crap and unbelievable (even for a comic book story!). I think I’m done with Millar and McNiven, but best of luck to ’em with whatever Nemesis is and whenever it will finish (I’m betting late 2011).
It’s nice to see Scalped doing so well on the GN charts
I’m kind of surprised there isn’t a bigger spread between unit sales and dollar sales between Marvel and DC. Marvel’s ahead by about 3% in both categories, even though most of their top-selling books are $1 more. I guess the $3.99 pricetag on Blackest Night made up for it.
Wait, why are the OCTOBER stats out before the SEPTEMBER colums?
Maybe you should just skip the Sep colums and jump straight to Oct…
THey keep us salivating, just waiting for the numbers compilation and quick analysis. Bring it Paul & Marc! We’re dying out here!
Look at the post above this.
Glad to see Naruto scaling Diamond’s charts. Go manga!
A look into the 2010 8 Ball shows 2 more events a bat-centric event, The Search for Bruce Wayne and a smaller 52 multiverse style event: Multiversity. There is bound to be another universe destroying event in 2010 that spans all titles and not just one corner of the DC universe. Superman RIP – The Final Climax.
It’s nice to see Scalped in the top 10 of the graphic novels!
I hope that you’ll do the indie sales chart again this month. I found that very useful.
7 of the top 10 comics are $2.99…hmmmm…
and the #1 book is $3.99 (as it has been every month this year except for June when Batman and Robin bested Reborn from Marvel)

Ok, so what if the number one book is $3.99? The MAJORITY are $2.99. Yes, I buy a $3.99 book now and then but I try to avoid them. I know I’m not alone in this and I think it is starting to show in the top ten.
