DC is set to expand their iconic Elseworlds imprint this Summer. The publisher today unveiled details for three new titles that will debut in May, June, and July, with two of the three titles focusing particularly on the Superman family.
The first title, Superman: Father of Tomorrow, was previously included in DC’s May 2026 solicitations. Here’s the description for the series from the creative team of writer Kenny Porter and artist Danny Earls:
When the planet Krypton explodes, a lone rocket escapes the destruction—not carrying Kal-El, but his father. Jor-El crash-lands in Kansas, where a kindly couple takes him in. As he adjusts to life on Earth, Jor-El discovers he can help his new home not only with his powers, but with his brilliant mind. This is the story of a Man of Steel and Science—and the world he saves.
The first issue, due out on Wednesday, May 27th, will sport a main cover by Earls and variant covers by Gabriel Hardman and Riley Rossmo.
The following week, on Wednesday, June 3rd, will see the debut of Supergirl: Survive from writers Elliot S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan and artist Rod Reis. Here’s how DC describes the series:
Kara Zor-El lives a life of small problems—school dances, family squabbles, and the impossible task of holding her floppy baby cousin Kal—but Krypton has big ones. As General Zod tightens his grip and the planet begins to burn, Kara and Kal are launched into the stars together, trapped in a prototype rocket and fighting to survive a universe that doesn’t care if they live or die. Parker and Sheridan (Eisner Award-nominees for Kill Your Darlings) join visionary artist Reis (New Mutants) for a harrowing Elseworlds tale of two refugees bound by blood, trauma, and hope.
Along with a main cover by Reis, Supergirl: Survive #1 will feature variant covers by Taurin Clarke and Guillem March.
July will see the return of Dark Knights of Steel from Tom Taylor and Otto Schmidt. Dark Knights of Steel II will launch on July 15th, and feature main covers by Yasmine Putri. More details about that series are forthcoming.
It’s been nearly three years since DC announced the return of the Elseworlds at New York Comic Con, with a lineup of six titles and a tease for Dark Knights of Steel II. Since then, four of those six books have been released, with the other two, Greg Smallwood‘s Batman the Barbarian and Clay Mann and Seth Mann‘s Batman: Nightfire, yet to see store shelves. No word on when those two books might be out. It makes sense that the line would focus this summer on Superman and Supergirl, though, what with the upcoming release of the Milly Alcock-starring Supergirl movie.
