Netflix’s ongoing Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition drama isn’t stopping them from making some exciting moves. The latest: The Good Place trio of Mike Schur, Andrew Law, and Matt Murray have signed on with the streamer for Dang!, a new animated sitcom starring Law, Poppy Liu, and Stephanie Hsu.
The trio will share showrunning duties; the series itself was created by Law and Murray, with developmental help from Schur. Dang! reportedly centers on three adult siblings “whose fun, messy lives in New York City are interrupted when their worst nightmare comes true: their high-achieving older sister (Hsu) shows up and wants to hang out with them,” according to the show’s logline (via THR).
“Mike Schur, Andrew Law, and Matt Murray are experts in finding the heart and hilarity in the most complex relationships. With Dang!, they tackle the relatable chaos of sibling rivalry, brought to life by the undeniable chemistry of Andrew Law, Poppy Liu, and Stephanie Hsu,” said John Derderian, VP for animation series and kids & family TV at Netflix. “As the home for the best creators and adult animated series, we’re thrilled to bring this incredible team and new show to our global audience.”
“We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Netflix, Universal Television, and Titmouse on Dang!,” said Law in a statement. “We hope that you fall in love with these characters. Or at least find them very, very attractive. Sexually.”
Besides The Good Place, Law has worked on series like Silicon Valley and Late Night With Seth Meyers. Murray worked as a writer-producer on Parks and Recreation (again with Schur), Community, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Netflix has been the home of celebrated animation like BoJack Horseman and the Trollhunters universe over the years. In 2025, the streamer’s biggest hit was the Sony Animation film K-Pop Demon Hunters, which already has a sequel in development.
