The first  slate of Crunchyroll Originals is officially here. The streamer and anime brand recently announced eight new shows, in collaboration with Kodansha, studio MAPPA and its own Crunchyroll studios with genres ranging from historical fiction, fantasy, romance and more. It’s the next step for the company that’s co-produced over 60 anime since 2015, including The Junji Ito Universe, The Rising of the Shield Hero and A Place Further than the Universe.

Crunchyroll Originals will debut eight new shows in this initial lineup. As far as release dates, go, it seems they’ll be staggered out through the year, so as not to cannibalize any of them. In/Spectre is available now, with Tower of God arriving on April 1 and Onyx Equinox scheduled for sometime this summer. The other five Crunchyroll Originals don’t have premieres yet, but we can likely expect at least a few more by the end of 2020 – and certainly by the time Crunchyroll Expo is here.

The annual anime celebration returns this September, with the announcement that programming submissions are now open to fans. So, if you’ve got an idea for a panel, cosplay meet-up or other entertainment, check out the criteria in the link above and send in an idea by May 7. Crunchyroll Expo takes place from September 4-6 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose California.
