A 64-page comic anthology amplifying underrepresented voices in the disability and neurodivergent communities.
It was vital to us that stories about neurodivergent people and those with disabilities be told by people with those conditions. This was one of the first sentences that began to explain what this project was. We were pretty much glued after that, its important to recognize that sentence carries weight a lot of these stories in the anthology are personal and in allowing these creator to tell this story in their own way is just as difficult to them as even creating it. For that reason this project is worth checking out, its just one f many reasons but suffice to say we at The Beat know that you wont be disappointed.
STARWEED #1-3 Complete Comic Book Story- Let’s End on a High

Goal: $420
End Date: October 5
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $4, The complete digital series for $12, and the physical copy with stickers for $18, or at higher tiers get the variant cover for $25 and prints for $30.
In a world of smoking the remains of dead celebrities, they heist the corpses. Also starring dinosaurs and an inflatable Clark Gable.
Aguirre’s art is phenomenal, it’s what we at The Beat noticed first, so we find it no surprise that alongside Wilson and Gregori’s writing that this project has seen success after succes on Kickstarter. To the point where they have made it to their third and final issue having already made its goal ($420 haha) and well on its way to completion. It may be a Sci-Fi stoner comedy but with a well grounded story, some lovable characters, and action that seems to jump out of the page we would be remiss to let this project just walk on by.
Jordan Hart’s Ripple Effects: The Deluxe Edition

The Eisner and Harvey Awards-nominated story returns with an all-star lineup to raise awareness for invisible illnesses & disabilities
This comic will hit home for a lot of people, over 304,000 children and adolescents have type 1 diabetes in the US alone. So, to have a comic that is willing to address an invisible chronic illness is worthy of it’s praise. Now to have a superhero who has to offset that and their life, secret and otherwise, is an amazing story. Just seeing the amount of work that was put into these pages and how Hart’s inspiration for this work allowed him to create such a melancholy and uplifting story makes us at The Beat want to shout from the rooftops to read this comic. Do not miss out on this project, I am disappointed that all I can give is my highest recommendation.
