As you may have heard, Dan DiDio is no longer with DC Comics. His decade-long tenure as co-publisher has had highs and lows but nobody can deny the influence he has had over the industry, as well as the stamp he made on DC Comics history. This news has garnered social media reaction from all corners of the comic industry, from Marvel to Image, ranging from simple shock to more positive outlooks… with some sour takes sprinkled in.
While the world of comics likes to look at things in terms of heroes and villains, that’s far from reality. I’ve known Dan Didio years before he was at DC.

We lived in different universes and competed for more years than I can remember, he’s a good guy and has been a staunch advocate for our medium for nearly two decades. I want to personally wish him the best and look forward to all his future endeavors and successes.

Obviously with the news just breaking, no one knows much of anything right now. But best wishes to Dan Didio, as well as everyone at DC.

a publisher's systemic problems can't be tied to one dude, so keep polishing your fantasies that things will somehow become quality over there

maybe DC can recruit people into an "EIC Workshop" and then not hire any of them when it's done

Last, but not least, we have one final reaction. One that perfectly captures how everyone in the industry is feeling; one of surprise, exacerbation… but also one of peace. Of serenity. Of hope for the future.

Enjoy your vacation, Scott. At least someone’s having a relaxing weekend.

That’s a neat ending to the tweets round-up but it seems rather to misrepresent all those regretful tweets! Where is this sense of peace and hope?
This fucker championed pornographically violent rape comics and protected harrassers in DC editorial. He should have been shitcanned years ago.
he was probably the last bulwark against the woke brigade at DC, watch the publisher suicide itself into oblivion from now.
