Welcome to this week’s installment of The Beat‘s Comics Crowdfunding Round-Up! Let’s look at what happens when deep stories meet sci-fi fun, a phenomenal gallery, a magazine with a space twist, and much more!
SYSTEMIC
Creators: Studio 12-7
Goal: $4,500
End Date: September 25, 2025
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $12, the physical copy for $25, a signed copy for $30, or, at higher tiers, the retailer bundle for $35, and much more!
80 pages of systemic friction at the personal level, where social forces, cultures, and economic strata meet and grind together.
Studio 12-7 has released four successful projects through Kickstarter, with two more projects underway. It takes a lot to manage the amount of work put into these projects, not to mention these creations, so it is no surprise to us at The Beat that SYSTEMIC not only caught our eye, but is already well on its way to being funded. It’s a sci-fi comics anthology collecting stories from various writers and artists over points in which society clashes—achieving this while also collecting a team of rising stars in the mainstream and indie fields.
SYSTEMIC looks amazing, and it’s obvious how much work has been put into it by simply looking through the project page. If you are a fan of deep storytelling and a fantastic take on sci-fi, this is the project for you.
Gallery Nucleus: The Art of CHAO!

Goal: $10,000
End Date: Starts October 19, 2025, and runs through November 2, 2025

Own a piece of Anime history! Nucleus and ACALI proudly present The Art of CHAO!, a new film by legendary STUDIO4°C.
This one is a doozy, readers, but just as important! Gallery Nucleus and ACALI proudly present The Art of CHAO!, a landmark exhibition celebrating STUDIO4°C’s newest film. On display from October 19 through November 2, 2025, this is the very first time the artwork will be shown in the United States. It features hand-drawn animation and reproductions of background paintings, each with a certificate of authenticity. The exhibition will be held at Gallery Nucleus at 210 East Main Street, Alhambra, California 91801.
The October 19 opening reception will feature a special appearance by Hirokazu Kojima, character designer and supervising animation director for ChaO. Kojima’s career spans iconic titles like Naruto, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and Evangelion Movie 3: Q, making this an incredible opportunity for fans. Most importantly, this event offers a rare inside look into ChaO before its US debut. While a private screening will take place around the same time, the film will not be released widely until later.
Options include a 1:00 PM panel and signing or a 4:00 PM signing-only session. Tickets reserve your spot, and there is a three-item limit per guest. Signing fees are $15 per item, but the fee is waived for event-exclusive merchandise purchased at Nucleus. Fans may bring items from home, purchase event items, or mix and match, up to the three-item limit. This system often confuses first-time visitors, so plan before queuing for signatures!
Do not miss this chance to meet Kojima in person and experience ChaO before it reaches a wider audience! Tickets are now live: Get tickets here.

Ex.Mag really is in a league of its own, and now upon reaching its 6th project on Kickstarter its not hard to see why they are an Eisner-nominated, award-wining anthology series. The project has already doubled its goal and looking through its project page its not hard to see how much work has been put into this 6th volume. I Roved Out in Search of Truth and Love: Tomes 1-3

Goal: $20,000
End Date: October 2, 2025
Goodies: Get Tome 1, 2, and 3 for $65, the tomes bundle for $180, signed copies for $75, or at higher tiers get the signed bookplates bundle for $210, and much more!w
I Roved Out in Search of Truth and Love is an erotic fantasy saga about a lazy elf trying to avoid an epic quest everyone wants to send her on.
The project page for I Roved Out in Search of Truth and Love lays out the story pretty clearly. What it doesn’t capture, though, is the years of work Flower has put into this series and the sheer demand from fans (over 20,000 on Bluesky) who’ve been waiting to hold these tomes in their hands. I want to stress this is an adults-only series, and Flower never shies away from that fact. That said, IROSOTL is packed with incredible work; the art feels otherworldly and is a major draw for anyone into high fantasy. The characters are sincere, warm, and ridiculous in the best possible ways. More than once, I found myself laughing, only to be pulled right back into its darker undercurrent. That mix of humor and shadow keeps you hooked and craving more. This might not be every fantasy reader’s cup of tea, but leaving it out of our Round-Up would’ve been wrong. See why this project pulled in 21.65 times its goal!
SHARP EYE – Issue 1

Goal: $10,000
End Date: October 3, 2025
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $5, the issue for $15, the retailer bundle for $38, or, at higher tiers, the “primogenitor” bundle for $45, and much more!
A daylight noir sci-fi comic set in the hot, fetid ruins of far future North America
What a love letter to worldbuilding. The amount of care and detail poured into this project practically oozes off the page. Trakhanov’s art is something to behold, and I cannot get enough of it. Take the tribes of Nuvi-La, for example: a full-page spread breaks down everything that makes them distinct, from their clothing and features to the traditions that set them apart. All this detail builds into a story about a holy man answering the call of a sunken treasure that holds a secret powerful enough to reshape the world as they know it. For fans of fantasy adventure, this is absolutely a project worth diving into.
WTF is a Podcast with Marc Maron

Goal: $5,000
End Date: August 29, 2025
Goodies: Get the physical copy for $35, the deluxe edition for $100, the signed editions for $250, or at higher tiers, get the artifact edition for $500, and more!
Marc Maron, Brian Box Brown & Z2 present: WTF is a Podcast, the official graphic novel of the WTF Podcast.
This project caught my eye because of its name, although, honestly, I had no idea who Marc Maron was before this. However, now I can say I’m glad I do. The WTF Podcast has released something that genuinely has intrigued me, and to that end, I’m glad to see that 20 years later, fans and newcomers will get the official history of the WTF Podcast told the only way that will leave an impact, through the medium of a comic book.
The project looks fantastic, and I’m happy to see something so creative and endearing come out of Kickstarter once again. Don’t miss out on this, or at the very least give it a look; it might be just the right thing for you.
SUPER EGO: The Short Comics of Jason Latour

Goal: $10,000
End Date: September 4, 2025
Goodies: The digital copy is $20, the art tier is $100, the super ego bundle is $140, and at higher tiers, the “Dealers Choice” tier is $350, and much more.
A new 176-PAGE collection by the co-creator of Spider-Gwen & Southern Bastards
Latour is well known for his work on Spider-Gwen and Southern Bastards, so it is no surprise that this Kickstarter has already been funded, making more than double its goal. Initially, I saw Doctor Damned on his project page, and I got absorbed. Upon realizing just how much work went into this and seeing how this project is just Latour, I was genuinely astonished. It looks like a fantastic project, and the fact that there are multiple stories he has to have fun with, I can’t help but love it even more.
THE FRAZETTA GALLERY SERIES, BOOK 2: WARRIORS

Goal: $10,000
End Date: October 5, 2025
Goodies: The softcover gallery is $35, the hardcover is $55, and the limited edition is $125. At higher tiers, you can get the “Completist: Warriors” tier for $190, and much more!
An art book collecting illustrations and sketches of fantasy characters and creatures from comic book and concept artist Max Dunbar.
If you’re a fan of fantasy, art, or powerful storytelling, Frazetta Gallery Series: WARRIORS is a must-see. Frank Frazetta redefined fantasy art with raw energy and primal force, creating the iconic look of sword and sorcery heroes like Conan and the Death Dealer. This second volume in the acclaimed series features over 70 masterful paintings, including rare and never-before-seen pieces, all restored with unmatched clarity from corrected scans. With insightful essays from legendary artists such as Bill Sienkiewicz and Simon Bisley, and an introduction by Frankie Frazetta, the book is both a visual feast and a heartfelt tribute to Frank’s legacy. Available in three collector-grade editions, the production quality is exceptional, with oversized pages, heavyweight art board, and elegant finishes. Whether you’re a lifelong admirer or new to Frazetta’s world, WARRIORS offers an immersive and faithful presentation of the art that defined a genre. This is a museum-worthy celebration of fantasy’s greatest visionary.
