I have some nice pictures of the late Al Feldstein from several San Diegos ago, but I couldn't find them in my 20000+ digital...
CBR introduces new zero tolerance message boards — who else will follow suit?
People are mad about CBR's forum getting civilized, but it's only the latest move in a long battle over internet discussions. Which side are YOU on?
Zak Sally will be at Wizard World Minneapolis
Author and historian Danny Fingeroth sent along his panel programming for this weekend's Wizard World Minneapolis, and whatever the ongoing controversy, it is fair to say that WizWorld programming has improved quite a bit. While looking through the programs, we noticed that one participant is indie comics stalwart Zak Sally</a> of La Mano Press, Sammy the Mouse and more. Let's just say that if there is one person we never expected to see at a Wizard World show it's Zak Sally. Maybe he will hang out with "social media sensations" Nash and Hayes Grier and Nathan Fillion, and then the circle will be complete.
We Are Comics tumblr is a hit!
It's Monday morning and if you are feeling cranky I guarantee that browsing the We Are Comics tumblr will make you feel better. As reported by Steve Morris over the weekend, this is a Tumblr run by Rachel Edidin, Arturo Garcia, Elle Collins, and Sigrid Ellis, with social media help by Jen Vaughn, where people simply tell their stories about reading comics. All kinds of people, all ages, colors, genders...because comics ARE for everybody. I loved scrolling through and reading readers origin stories...they are so varied and enthusiastic and feel of love for imagination and creativity.

What is it like to be a man in comics?
So yesterday I tweeted this, and there was quite a bit of outcry before during and after about Janelle Asselin's Tumblr post, linked to in this said tweet. The kind of short version of it all is:
Bone gives Shades of Grey a run as one of the 10 Most Banned...
If you were to guess what the 10 most banned or challenged books in the US in 2013 were, you might guess 50 Shades...
Tumblr-gedden as Tumblr removes Disqus and custom code from some sites
Tumblr users who have been reveling in its ability to share content—and block trolls via the plug-in Disqus—got a rude shock today when due to code problems, users found their custom themes disabled and their comment boards wiped out. Among the missing—DC Women Kicking Ass's lively comments section. DCWKA's Sue took to Twitter to mourn the loss, and just as I write this it looks like she may have found the missing posts, but others were still searching.

Swipe File: Kris Mukai’s Commuter and a real woman with a subway pole in...
While there were more great comics than you could count at this weekend's MoCCA Fest one that got a little notice was Kris Mukai's Commuter (available for sale here) which captures real life moments of subway horror (rats, puke, bums, vandals, peoples selling batteries, mariachi bands) in comics form.
