The second Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer, which exclusively premiered with Avatar: Fire and Ash during its second week in theaters, has now been officially released online:

Picking up from 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, the trailer finds Chris Hemsworth‘s Son of Odin praying to his father for the strength to return to his newly adopted daughter, Love (played by Hemsworth’s real daughter India.) Thor’s hair is noticeably back to the short length he wore in Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and at the start of Endgame, reflecting how events have become serious for him again, and he is once again wielding Stormbreaker after passing it down to Love.

Between Love, Franklin Richards (whose presence in this movie was revealed in The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘s mid-credits scene), and the child of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) revealed in the first trailer, it appears parenthood will continue to play a major theme in the Avengers films. It raises the question of what role Morgan Stark, the daughter of the late Tony Stark/Iron Man (played by Lexi Rabe in Endgame), might play in Doomsday, especially with Robert Downey Jr. now playing lead villain Doctor Doom instead of her dad.

Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. As well as Hemsworth, Evans, and Downey, it will see the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki (who’s still separated from his brother in his current role as the God of Stories), Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, and various lead cast members from Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the original X-Men films.

It will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, due out December 17, 2027, and be preceded by Spider-Man: Brand New Day (which doesn’t have a trailer yet) on July 31, 2026. In the meantime, the MCU will continue on Disney+ with Wonder Man (releasing in its entirety on January 27), Daredevil: Born Again season two in March, a Punisher special, and VisionQuest later next year. Stay tuned until then, for when Marvel inevitably releases the third of the four reported trailers, that’ll be attached to Fire and Ash this Friday, and follow online next week.
