As has been made explicitly clear over the past few weeks, the comic book direct market is struggling amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why Sam Humphries, Brian Michael Bendis, Kami Garcia, Gwenda Bond and Phil Jimenez created Creators 4 Comics; to bring together more than 120 comic pros to raise funds for retailers through the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).

From Wednesday, April 15, 2020 to Monday, April 20, 2020 at 12pm EST, creators will be hosting their own Twitter auctions, where anyone can bid on books, artwork such as a DC villains lineup from Phil Jimenez and one-of-a-kind-experiences like Sam Humphries’ “How to Break Into Comics by Making Your Own Comics” video-chat sessions. To participate, all you have to do is search up #Creators4Comics and track down any items that you’re interested in. From there, Creators 4 Comics outlines specific details on how to bid, how winners can pay and how to receive those winnings.

BINC is currently accepting applications from comic book shops and bookstores in need of emergency relief and, if auctions aren’t your thing, or you just want to make a difference, Creators 4 Comics provides a donation link on its website.

For more on how the auctions will work, just scroll down and read on.

Creators/people run their own individual auctions by tweeting under the hashtag #Creators4Comics.

Twitter users scroll through the auction items under the hashtag and reply to individual item threads to place their bids.

The winning bidder donates directly to BINC and submits the proof of donation to the auctioneer to claim their item.
