When Nickelodeon debuted a new Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series back in 2018, there was some initial fan backlash over the radically different direction for the beloved property and departure from established lore. While only lasting two seasons and a feature film on Netflix, the series has gained a great appreciation in recent years for its unique take on the franchise. So much so that IDW is publishing an Art of Rise of the TMNT coffee table book set for release in April.
IDW’s current TMNT: Battle Nexus crossover features the Heroes in a Half Shell from different media continuities including Rise of the TMNT. In fact, the character of Big Mama first introduced in Rise was revealed to be a member of the Dimensional Council
