Open up your wallets, folks. At its E3 press conference on Tuesday, Nintendo finally announced a release date and trailer for its next Animal Crossing gameNew Horizons. Fans have been waiting almost eight years for this announcement, since the release of the last mainline game (New Leaf in 2012) and the spin-off mobile game, Pocket Camp. New Horizons has even been pushed back a year due to development issues. Needless to say, Twitter is going crazy.
The trailer opens with a cheeky reference aimed at longtime fans: “The Nook Inc. Getaway Package Charter Flight will soon be arriving at the deserted island.” Nook is, of course, the infamous money-grubbing Tom Nook, a recurring character of the series. Throughout the trailer, we get glimpses at new cast members, new environments and, like the title suggests, new horizons.
Check out the trailer below. Animal Crossing: New Horizons releases March 20, 2020. Stay tuned for more news from E3.
