  1. It’s hard to get excited for new Archie Horror comics when Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Afterlife With Archie have been going for 4 and 5 years respectively and neither have made it past issue 10.

  2. I expect Greg Smallwood is a bit different. To both write and draw what feels to me like a boutique project (and particularly co-writing with your spouse) just feels pretty good. A way to escape the big two and even engage in a light romance format but bring on the horror. I know I’d follow Smallwood wherever, but I’m pretty pleased with his move here. I think it’ll come out more regularly.

I do however agree on the cobbled way of those titles which have lead to an assumed lack of commitment somewhere and the unforgivable delays

But Archie DOES have a robust PR department, based on how often their press releases end up here. Publicity seems to be where their energies are going these days.
