2024 Eisner nominations announced, led by Fantagraphics and Tom King

The 2024 Eisner nominations have just been announced and Fantagraphics led publishers with 24 nominations (plus 1 shared). Among creators, Tom King had a leading 4 nominations, while Leela Corman, Bilquis Evely, Emil Ferris, LeUyen Pham, Ram V, Javier Rodriguez, Olivier Schrauwen, James Tynion IV, Gene Luen Yang, and Quentin Zuttion all had three.

The awards are well distributed between the mass – Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman got multiple nominations – and the indie. If I ahd to pick one nomination that made me smile its Santos Sisters for Best Continuing Series. It’s a whimsical labor of love and not necessarily award fare but somehow it fits. 

Nominations were selected by a slate of judges which included editor/journalist/publisher Robert V. Conte, graphic novel librarian Kacy Helwick, reviews editor Meg Lemke, comics retailer Eitan Manhoff, and educator Rocco Versaci. Winners will be announced in a gala awards ceremony to be held at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel during Comic-Con on the evening of July 25. In order to vote for the Eisners, the first step is for prospective voters to apply at https://cci.tiny.us/2025Eisners. After filling out the form, eligible voters will be invited to go to the ballot and cast their votes. Those who previously registered will automatically be invited to fill out the new ballot. All professionals in the comic book industry are eligible to vote. The deadline for voting is June 5. New voters must have registered by May 29 in order to be invited to the ballot.
