2000 AD and Konami have announced they are teaming up on a tie-in comic for the upcoming horror game Silent Hill: Townfall, titled Silent Hill: Townfall – The Dock House. Written by the game’s lead writer and director Jon McKellan, with art by David Roach (Nemesis The Warlock), the strip will be featured in this month’s landmark 2000 AD Prog #2500, and will follow a harbour master on the remote Scottish island of St. Amelia.

The official synopsis describes protagonist Douglas as being “a veteran harbour master who has spent decades maintaining St. Amelia’s dock house. Trapped in an endless routine surrounded by fog and isolation, Douglas discovers an impossible staircase descending beneath the harbour, forcing him to confront a terrifying reality hidden beneath the surface of the town.”
2000 AD editor-in-chief Matt Smith says, “The atmospheric horrors of Silent Hill are a great fit for 2000 AD, so when we were approached to publish a special tie-in story for Silent Hill: Townfall, it was something I knew the readers would thoroughly enjoy immersing themselves in – and with David Roach on art duties, it’s an especially moody, eerie piece that works as a standalone chiller.”
McKellan adds, “It’s incredibly exciting to expand the world of Silent Hill: Townfall with a new short story, and a personal milestone for me as a writer to get a chance to contribute to an issue! It feels especially fitting for a game set in the UK to feature in a UK national treasure like 2000 AD, and watching David bring the words to life has been a joy. I’m excited for readers to experience a slice of the world we’ve built, and discover its connection to the game.”
Townfall, a standalone entry in Konami’s long-running horror series, is set in 1996, and follows Simon Ordell (played by Watchmen‘s Jovan Adepo), an African American man who inexplicably wakes up to find himself on St. Amelia. The game, which also stars Terry O’Quinn and Kezia Burrows, will be released on the PlayStation 5 and PC on Thursday, September 24.
The Dock House will be released when 2000 AD Prog #2500 arrives in UK stores on Wednesday, September 16, and globally on September 30; it’ll also be available digitally through the the 2000 AD webstore and app. The comic releases weekly, and Prog #2499 is available now.
In further Silent Hill news this week, Polygon reports 2025’s Silent Hill f will receive a manga spin-off in the pages of Weekly Famitsu sometime later this year. The serial, by writer Ryukishi07 (who also penned the game) and artist Ayato, will reveal the backstory of the mysterious fox mask-wearing Kotoyuki. It’ll mark the second comic for the game, following the manga adaptation of the main story itself.
