Wyonna Earp, a comic book first introduced in 1996 created by Beau Smith is headed towards a spring television debut on the Syfy network. The comic was published by IDW in 2003, and CBR announced a brand new series shipping in February in advance of the show’s debut. The new comic is written by Smith with art from Lora Innes (The Dreamer.)

CBR noted that the comic is changing styles to fit more in line with the upcoming television show. IDW, the comic’s publisher is also producing the Wyonna Earp Syfy series with SEVEN24 Films. The show stars Melanie Scrofano (RoboCop.) Emily Andras (Lost Girl) is serving as both executive producer and showrunner.

Wyonna Earp was originally published by Image Comics. Earp’s father Wyatt Earp, was a top agent working for a unit called The Monster Squad. Earp battles supernatural threats as an agent following in her father’s footsteps. Wyonna Earp: The Yeti Wars was the last published comic starring the heroine. The series was crafted by IDW available for purchase in a collection.
