We celebrate the Beat’s anniversary on July 1st every year, and guess what? We’re 12!
But the Beat would not be possible without Alexander Lu, who probably does more work on the site than I do these days; Kyle PInion and Hannah Lodge, our entertainment beat reporters; Edie Nugent, Torsten Adair, Jeff Trexler, Davey Nieves, Zach Clemente, Nick Eskey, Pádraig Ó Méalóid, Brandon Schatz, John Seven and Chris Hayden. Special thanks to the sales chart crew: Xavier Lancel and David Carter. And a fond farewell to alumni Henry Barajas and Alex Jones who have moved on to bigger and better things — Henry is at TopCow now and Alex recently joined Valiant as an intern. So you see, dreams do come true!
Special thanks to my Patreon supporters; my mid-year resolution is to get the newsletter fired up, and Patreon supporters are going to get some special goodies, like bonus podcasts and interviews. Maybe even some blasts from the past. You’ll be surprised.
I’m actually going to celebrate this birthday by taking the afternoon off to go see a James Turrell installation at the Pace Gallery and maybe sit outside and drink some rosé with pals. Net week begins Hell Week so look for all the San Diego news and previews, panels, Judge Dredd rumors and more!
And because it’s Friday, bonus catblogging!
