Next Friday, June 2nd, Oni Press and Kinokuniya USA have teamed up to host a special panel and signing featuring The Tea Dragon Society‘s Katie O’Neill and Our Cats are More Famous than Us co-creators Yuko Ota and Anath Hirsh. The event will take place at Kinokuniya Bookstore’s New York City outpost. It is presented as a part of Book Expo 2017, which also takes place in New York that week.
The conversation between these creators will be moderated by Oni’s editor-in-chief James Lucas Jones. Topics include these creators’ personal work, comics publishing, the comics industry as a whole.
Kinokuniya is a Japanese-based book retailer which has carved out a special place for itself in New York City. It has become known as an outpost where bibliophiles and japanophiles can acquire texts, stationary, and other items that are otherwise unavailable at American retailers. Additionally, they have recently entered the comics market, working with publishers to carry exclusive variant editions of graphic novels and hosting events like this one.
