At their NYCC panel today, AfterShock Comics announced that they will be publishing a new line of original graphic novels, overseen by publisher Joe Pruett. The first two books being published include work from writers Garth Ennis and Marguerite Bennett.

First up: Out of the Blue, from the team of Garth Ennis, Keith Burns, Jason Wordie and Rob Steen. You’ll be shocked to hear that Ennis’ latest project is a war story, set in the aftermath of World War II. A young RAF pilot called Jamie McKenzie (not Jamie McKelvie) is assigned to shut down shipping strikes orchestrated by German pilots, but gets into trouble when he incurs the wrath of his commanding officer – who also sets his sights on Jamie’s wife. Given the worst plane in the base and the least useful navigator, Jamie has to try and survive the War – even once it’s over. The OGN will be out in March 2019.

Then we have Hoarde by Marguerite Bennett, Leila Leiz, Guy Major, and Marshall Dillon. This is about a woman called Ruby, who revisits her mother after learning that her father has passed away. Ruby’s mother is an extreme hoarder, though, and Ruby’s attempt to reconnect with her results in finding that her home has morphed and changed in peculiar ways. As Ruby tries to free her mother from the collection, the collection… fights back, and might trap both women in the house forever. Hoarde will be published in Summer 2019.
