Next week, DC Comics will release the DC Holiday Special 2017 #1. This is something both Kyle and I have been looking forward to reading, as we adored last year’s anthology of fun holiday stories. And this year, we have an exclusive preview of a story from this year’s special!
After the jump, get a sneak peek at a tale from writer Jeff Lemire and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, with Cam Smith on inks, Tomeu Morey on colors, and lettering by Clayton Cowles. In “The Reminder,” we find Clark Kent at the Ace of Clubs bar in Metropolis, which is run by Superman’s greatest fan, Bibbo Bibowski. After a long 2017 filled with blowhards and the threat of nuclear annihilation, even Clark is feeling a little down. And to make matters worse, he’s sitting within earshot of the eternally morose John Constantine. Can Bibbo lighten the mood and rekindle everyone’s holiday spirit? What happens when DC’s beacon of hope butts up against its greatest pessimist?
DC Comics’ finest talents have assembled to bring you a holiday special like you’ve never seen before! Join Superman, Wonder Woman and the Flash as they deliver powerful messages of hope like only The World’s Greatest Super-Heroes can! Plus: Sgt. Rock fights the Nazis on Hanukah, the Teen Titans take on the literal ghost of Christmas past, and Swamp Thing battles that creeping feeling of existential dread! And don’t miss the legendary Denny O’Neil’s return to comics with an all-new Batman story!
