BOOM! Studios has had more hits than misses when it comes to publishing WWE Comics. Next year looks to bring more of the same as the publisher will once again do a special one-shot based on WWE’s big four pay-per-view events, Royal Rumble. Not only will the book collect an anthology of stories based on some historic moments from the 30-man over the top rope battle royal, but now WWE Superstar “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles will make his mainstream comics writing debut.

AJ Styles who made his WWE debut during the 2016 Royal Rumble talked about how special this event is to him, “I’ve performed in arenas all over the world, but the most special debut was in front of the WWE Universe at Royal Rumble.”

AJ will be joined on his story by co-writer Michael Kingston who self-publishes a wrestling comic book called Headlocked. The book has had multiple independent wrestlers such as Christopher Daniels contribute to its pages, even featured the art of Jerry “The King” Lawler.

WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2018 SPECIAL features untold stories behind some of the greatest Royal Rumble matches in history. From Ric Flair winning his first rumble to Shawn Michaels going the distance after teetering on the edge. The book will launch in January just ahead of the 2018 Royal Rumble on WWE Network.

Someone do a story about the Rumble where Stone Cold Steve Austin got tossed out by Vince McMahon.
