Courtesy of Papercutz, we can exclusively reveal the publisher will begin releasing Lisa Manuzak Wiley‘s fantasy webcomic The Witches of Pepperwood Bay in print this fall. The series, which follows three sisters who are custodians of a magical lighthouse, is bound to be another great addition to the imprint’s line of kid-friendly graphic novels, and we are pleased to share a statement from Wiley, as well as an exclusive preview of the first volume, due out October 21, 2025.
Keeping the peace in the enchanting Pepperwood Bay is no easy task! Three witch sisters – Juniper, Lily, and Clover – must be ready for anything and everything as caretakers of the magical lighthouse portal overlooking the bay. Including missing teapots! When their neighbor, Ms. Fiddleneck’s magic teapot, disappears, it is up to them to use their talents to save the day – and the best brew in the village. While navigating the bonds of siblinghood, and with the help and hindrance of a variety of mythical creatures, the sisters must work their magic and keep their fantastical home safe.
Lisa Manuzak Wiley, a Hawaii-born children’s illustrator and video game artist, says, “I am very excited to bring The Witches of Pepperwood Bay to the world! This story is a distillation of so many things that are special to me: family, island life, magic, and humor. It is a dream to work with Papercutz on my very first graphic novel, and I know that the story is in excellent hands. What started out as a personal project in my free time has blossomed into a full-fledged book, and I am so happy that Papercutz has helped make this dream a reality.”
The Witches of Pepperwood Bay Vol. 1 is available to preorder now from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Bookshop. It will retail at 120 pages for $9.99 in paperback, and $14.99 in hardcover. And now without further ado, here’s the five-page preview.
