Will’s story is far from over. Wistoria: Wand and Sword, the fantasy-action anime from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? author Fujino Ōmori has confirmed that the second season will premiere worldwide in April 2026.

Based on the manga by Ōmori and artist Toshi Aoi, the series follows Will, a boy branded a dropout in a world ruled by magic, who dares to fight with only his sword. After making waves in July 2024 with its first season on Crunchyroll, the anime is gearing up for a highly anticipated return.

A brand-new teaser visual gives fans their first look at Season 2, depicting Will standing defiantly with his sword against a starry tower and ruined cityscape. A special trailer has also been released, recapping Season 1 highlights and teasing what’s to come in the next chapter.

Returning and New Staff

Tatsuya Yoshihara, who directed Season 1 and served as an animation director on Chainsaw Man, returns as chief director. Hideaki Nakano (Classroom for Heroes) will step in as director. Bandai Namco Pictures and Actas continue to handle production, with key staff from the first season also coming back, including character designer Sayaka Ono (Cross Ange) and composer Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia).

A Hero’s Path Forward

Wistoria: Wand and Sword follows Will as he enters a prestigious magic academy despite being unable to cast a single spell. Scorned by his peers and teachers, Will fights to prove that determination and a blade can rival even the most powerful magic—while keeping a promise to someone precious.

Fans can catch up on Season 1 now on Crunchyroll before Season 2 premieres in April 2026.
