This week’s Top Comics to Buy for November 26 is a mix of mainstream hits — we have two Batman books — and esoteric, fascinating indie comics, which blend elements that range from Black history to videogames to dating. I say this a lot, but the more eclectic a week gets, the more I tend to enjoy it. And this, my friends, is a good one.
You can find my top five weekly comics recommendations below, along with the usual set of release lists…enjoy!
Top Comics to Buy for November 26, 2025
Absolute Batman #14
Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Nick Dragotta
Colorist: Frank Martin
Letterer: Clayton Cowles
Publisher: DC Comics
Batman and Catwoman face down Bane in a final battle! But once the dust settles, what will it all mean for the future of Batman?
Why It’s Cool: Absolute Batman brings its second major story arc to a thundering end this week, with an issue that sees our titular hero deal with a borderline Kaiju-Bane. It’s gnarly, it’s over the top, and it sets up much more story to come. It is, in other words, all the things that have made Absolute Batman a mega hit.
Price: $4.99
Ancestral Recall #4
Writer: Jordan Clark
Artist: Atagun Ilhan
Colorist: Pippa Bowland
Letterer: Rob Steen
Publisher: AHOY! Comics
Penultimate issue! Aided by his “ancestors” in Black history, Melvin has finally found his wife June. But even with Melvin’s mysterious power, can they break out of the corporation’s futuristic headquarters?
Why It’s Cool: I’ve enjoyed every issue of this series, but this one might be my favorite to date. It blends the high-concept sci-fi elements of this series with a sweet love story spread out over time, and I am nothing if not a sucker for a sweet love story spread out over time. Can’t wait for the finale of this book.

Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia #1
Writer/Artist: Gabriel Hardman
Colorist: Romulo Fajardo, Jr.
Letterer: Simon Bowland
Publisher: DC Comics – Black Label
From the decaying husk of Hub City, Vic Sage, the Question goes deep undercover on the trail of a human-trafficking operation in the frozen Arctic. Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, pushed out of his own company’s C-suite, must get his crumbling life back together… but what is Queen Industries’ involvement with a mysterious project dubbed Arcadia? Spurred on by the Question, Green Arrow joins the hunt for answers… but one obstacle stands in the way of their investigation: the Batman.
Why It’s Cool: This is one of those fantastic Black Label series that ups the complexity of its storytelling and characterizations to a point that really sets it apart. There’s also a grandiosity to the scope of this one, an ambition of story that makes it worthy of incorporating not one, not two, but three DC superheroes. Plus, Gabriel Hardman art is worth the price of admission alone. I’ll have more to say about this one in tomorrow’s DC Round-Up column.
Price: $5.99
Cemetery Kids Run Rabid #4
Writer: Zac Thompson
Artist: Daniel Irizarri
Colorist: Brittany Peer
Letterer: Andworld Design
Publisher: Oni Press
Gameplay warps reality in the conclusion, and family and friendships are irrevocably changed forever! The endgame arrives. Where truths are revealed, souls are obliterated and tears fall. As the Cemetery Kids follow a possessed Pik into the final level of The Blighted Sprawl, the gang find that victory comes at a tremendous cost.
Why It’s Cool: This is one of the darkest takes I’ve read on how videogames (and, perhaps, gaming in general) can dangerously seep into real life, taking a literal approach to that. But that’s what makes it work so well for me. It’s not afraid to go dark, and then to go even darker. It’s a book that keeps you on your toes, to be sure, and I loved the setup that happens at the end of this issue, which concludes another story arc.
Price: $4.99
Orla! #4
Writer: John Lees
Artist: Sally Cantirino
Colorist: Dearbhla Kelly
Letterer: Lucas Gattoni
Publisher: Mad Cave Studios
Following the disastrous events of Halloween, Orla is in freefall, and has never felt more alone. Fully embracing her murderous mission, she has set her vengeful sights on her white whale: odious manosphere influencer Rick Holester, whose speaking tour has arrived in Seattle. If one horrible man is so toxic that him being eaten by The Ick would make the world a tangibly better place, is it worth the cost? Meanwhile, Gwyn has some secrets of his own to share.
Why It’s Cool: Orla! #4 was such an easy choice for this week’s Top Comics to Buy for November 26. I’ve been absolutely loving this series, even more so after the gruesome twist ending of Orla! #3, and I’m happy to report I’m enjoying it even more as the plot continues to unspool. This issue is spent (rightly) dealing with the fallout from last month, before hitting readers with yet another twist around what’s actually going on here. Just comics making of the highest order in this book. Don’t miss it.
