This week’s Top Comics to Buy for March 25 has a conspicuous omission. As you’ll notice, I don’t have the Superman/Spider-Man #1 crossover in my top 5. Part of that is I feel like it’s so high-profile, I don’t need to spotlight it. You already know if you’re buying that one. So, I’m saving my space for the other books I enjoyed.

And you can find my five favorites below, along with 10 other recommendations, and the usual sets of new #1 and graphic novel release lists … enjoy!

Top Comics to Buy for March 25, 2026

The Flash #31
Writer: Ryan North
Artist: Gavin Guidry
Colorist: Adriano Lucas
Letterer: Buddy Beaudoin
Publisher: DC Comics
Wally West: father, husband, and fastest man alive. And now with DC K.O. in the rearview mirror, Wally can finally relax and live his best life. Or can he? Because an awful lot of people are suddenly relying on the Flash to save them — and intentionally putting themselves in danger to ensure that he does! Something sinister is happening behind the scenes… and Wally is right in the crosshairs. Also in this issue: shenanigans! Science!
Why It’s Cool:
This issue marks the start of a new creative team on the book, and they absolutely nail the exact tone and idea structure I like from my Flash comics, complete with dad jokes (but not too many) and novel use of his powers/foes. We’ll have more about this one in tomorrow’s DC Round-Up column, but this issue was as good as Flash comics get.
Price: $3.99

Is Ted OK? #2
Cartoonist: Dave Chisholm
Publisher: Mad Cave Studios
After the explosive conclusion to issue 1, Ted confronts Sarah and confesses that he believes his workplace, Ayn-Styne, is overrun with aliens engaged in a nefarious plot. Seeing that he needs friendly support, she commits to helping him investigate…without confessing that her job is, in fact, to spy on him. Her interest is piqued, however, as Ted unexpectedly uncovers evidence of a massive conspiracy deep within the bowels of the massive Ayn-Styne building. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, journalist Kyle begins to interview the mysterious trillionaire–and Ayn-Styne founder–Noah™.
Why It’s Cool:
Cartoonist Dave Chisholm in this second issue pushes the dark sci-if aesthetic and ideas from the debut even further, building out his world and characters. This book is, as the kids say, a vibe, and it’s scary and mysterious and very cool.
Price: $5.99

Minor Arcana #15
Writer/Artist: Jeff Lemire
Colorist: Patrico Delpeche
Letterer: Steve Wands
Publisher: BOOM! Studios
More revelations emerge as the ballad of Budd St. Pierre closes out the final issue of the third arc! Returning home after his prison stint, Budd finds it hard to reacclimate to society, especially as his psychic tremors show no signs of slowing. What truths will be divined from the continuation of his arresting tale?
Why It’s Cool: This is one of those character-specific issues in an excellent ongoing comic that builds out both our understanding of one of the players in the story as well as the wider world itself. There are no bad issues of Minor Arcana, really, but there are especially excellent chapters like this one.
Price: $4.99

The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery #2
Writer: Christopher Condon
Artist: Jacob Phillips
Letterer: Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
Publisher: DC Comics – Vertigo
Karl Meyer is missing, and an anvil with occult powers has been stolen, and only Ezra Cain sees the connection. But a visit with his old professor, Dr. Morris, comes with a caution: the anvil’s power is more dangerous than Ezra realizes. After a tip sends Ezra to the Clockworkers’ Union in Brooklyn, he’ll come face to face with the mechanical menace that wields that power!
Why It’s Cool:
This was my favorite of last month’s Vertigo debuts, and that love carries through to the second issue. It’s a noir book with a great lead character, a perfect setting, and, just maybe, a touch of the supernatural. Add to that one of my favorite creative teams in comics, and this book has rapidly become one of my most-anticipated comics month-to-month.

Spirit of the Shadows #3
Story By: Daniel Ziegler and Nick Cagnetti
Script: Daniel Ziegler
Art & Colors: Nick Cagnetti
Lettering: Ferran Delgado
Publisher: Oni Press
Outrageously otherworldly creators Nick Cagnetti (Pink Lemonade) and Daniel Ziegler (Elodie) continue the superhero horror sensation of 2026 with a brand-new chapter that raises the stakes—and raises the dead! Erik Leroux has been plucked from the spirit world and thrust back into the land of the living. Haunted by memories of his death and the strange forces that led to his untimely ending, Erik now finds himself at the mercy of the vengeful witch Helena. But what dark thread ties their fates together?
Why It’s Cool:
Spirit of the Shadows is one of my favorite comics of the year so far, and it continues to get better as its macabre plot unfolds. Also, Nick Cagnetti’s take on neon-soaked horror is just must-read comics. Don’t miss this one, truly.
