NYC is still one of the capitals of the comics world and its fulled of cool comics events, such as this one taking place tomorrow night: a live reading of The Tower by Francois Schuiten and Benoit Peeters as translated by Ivanka Hahnenberger.
The graphic novel will be projected during the reading, which is directed by Elowyn Castle and features performers Hamilton Clancy, Laurent Nahon, Andy Rowell, Evangeline Fontaine, and Don Kersey.
Schuiten and Peters are among the most beloved and important French comics creators, including the classic The Obscure Cities.
The performance takes place Thursday, October 30th at 7:30 pm at The Drilling Company as part of their Discovery Series of readings, located at 315 West 47th Street.
As described by the theater:
This is a reading of a graphic novel – a classic from the Obscure Cities series of Francois Schuiten and Benoit Peeters translated by Ivanka Hahnenberger . While reading we’ll be projecting some of the most glorious art in the history of graphic novels. Don’t believe it? Think it’s hyperbole? Based on a conversation these authors actually had with Orson Welles in his lifetime …truly a magical night!
Tickets are $25 – to make a reservation go here.

For those not able to attend, will it be recorded? I’d be interested…
