FX have dropped the first trailer for The Beauty, the sci-fi body horror series created by Ryan Murphy & Matt Hodgson, based on the comic by Jeremy Haun & Jason A. Hurley.
The official synopsis reads, “When international supermodels begin dying in gruesome and mysterious ways, FBI Agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) uncover a conspiracy that threatens the future of humanity. The investigation leads them directly into the crosshairs of ‘The Corporation’ (Ashton Kutcher), who will stop at nothing to protect his trillion-dollar empire.”
The show also stars Anthony Ramos as the Corporation’s assassin, and Jeremy Pope (The Inspection, Pose) as Jeremy, “a desperate outsider” who gets “caught in the chaos, searching for purpose as the agents race across Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York to stop a threat that could alter the future of humanity.”
Guest stars will include model Amelia Gray Hamlin, Ari Graynor (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Bella Hadid (Ramy), Ben Platt (The Politician), Billy Eichner (American Horror Story), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave), Jaquel Spivey (the Mean Girls musical), Jessica Alexander (The Little Mermaid), Jon Jon Briones (Ratched), John Carroll Lynch (Fargo), Julie Halston (And Just Like That…), Lux Pascal (Queen of Coal), Meghan Trainor (Smurfs: The Lost Village), Nicola Peltz Beckham (Bates Motel), Peter Gallagher (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), and Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil).
The show will premiere on FX and Hulu with three (of 11) episodes on Wednesday, January 21, at 9pm ET. The penultimate two episodes will air on February 25, and the final two will follow on March 4. The source material, originally published by Image, and now by Ignition Press, will be reprinted in a new series of paperbacks starting January 20, while issue #3 of the new run will also arrive on January 21.
