Courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, we can exclusively reveal the publisher will release Stimulus, a collection of 12 interconnected sci-fi stories, all written by Daniel Freedman (Birdking, Kali). Described as an action-packed “exploration of loyalty, dominion, and worth,” the book features art by Robert Sammelin, Tomm Coker, Filya Bratukhin (Nature’s Labyrinth), Amilcar Pinna (Galactic), Dilraj Mann (Dalstron Monsterzz), Lorenzo Nuti (Dragonero/Conan), Arianna Farricella (College Apocalypse), Gavin Dias (Penthouse Comics), Debbie Tsoi (Split Fiction), Stefano Realdini (Captain Gaia), Dan Morison (HELL-BENT), and Henrik Sahlström (Mirror’s Edge: Exordium).

A blood-soaked briefcase full of cash. A mind reader hellbent on crime. An errant soldier turned hitman. Earthly homunculus. Crystal women. Men made of stars. Deviant frog people. Sorceress succubi. Advanced space-force fighter pilots. Avenging vampires. Sentient sentimental AI constructs. Alien voyeurs. The demigod spawn of heart-broken angels. Cyber enhanced mercenary thieves. Death races. Unfulfilled ancient prophecies. Lost valor. Stolen principles. And the supernatural plant known as “Seafarer” that ties them all together.
Freedman states, “Stimulus is a collection of pure passion and experimentation that I’ve been amassing for almost a decade. Mostly as cause to collaborate with some of the finest illustrators in the world. I’m thrilled for readers to finally get their hands on it.” Freedman, a writer, film editor, director, and former colorist from Los Angeles, has released all of his comics via Dark Horse since 2020’s Raiders (created with Birdking artist CROM.) He previously worked with Sammelin on Kali, and Tomm Coker on the Image series Undying Love.
Stimulus will retail at 184 pages in paperback for $22.99, and is available to pre-order now from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or your local bookstore/comic shop. It will arrive in bookstores on April 28, 2026, and comics shops the following day. In the meantime, Freedman’s next book, The Witcher: Blood Stone #1 (of 4), will be released by Dark Horse on January 28.
