That is so wrong. I’ve always maintained that Henry Rollins should be Racer X, preferably with Tobey Maguire or Elijah Wood as Speed.
But as long as Bob Hoskins plays Pops, all is right with the world.

I think this says more about Hollywood about being doomed than Pirates 2. There is no way this will work, but they’ll force it to happen. It has a novelty to it, but that doesn’t make it a good idea for a movie.
It’s not just acting ability or looks that make a role work. The voice also needs to work. I don’t think this guy would fit this role. The old series had a “Superman” type of presentation and commanding voice. It’s come to being part of the character. This guy would present a character that seems unsure of himself and very much so the opposite of “commanding”. But then look at the crappy new series that the industry thinks will relaunch the property.
