Sabrina the Teenage Witch coming to DC KO

One of Archie's most beloved characters is headed to DC KO

Hidden away on Bluesky, DC editor Chris Conroy revealed that DC KO, the fantastical punch-’em-up crossover currently happening at the publisher, will bring in yet another guest star from outside of DC’s multiverse.

That would be Sabrina, star of Archie Comics’ Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Decked out in a black top and riding a broom, Sabrina appears on variant covers for DC KO Boss Battle #1, which pits DC heroes and villains against the likes of Mortal Kombat‘s Sub-Zero, Red Sonja, and Samantha from Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees.

The revelation that Sub-Zero, Annabelle the Doll, and other non-DC characters would be showing up in DC KO was one of the buzziest announcements to come out of New York Comic Con in October.

“They had asked, and I said, ’emphatically, yes. That would be wonderful,’” Beneath the Trees creator Patrick Horvath told Comic Book Club that weekend.

Sabrina wasn’t one of the originally-announced crossovers, but came when Third Eye Comics posted a number of the variant covers on their Bluesky account.

“Did we announce Sabrina the Teenage Witch yet? Well, there’s Sabrina,” Conroy posted in response. “This comic book is mayhem and I love that we’re doing it.”

“And there might be some more after that, but these are the ones that are locked in,” DC publisher Jim Lee said at the time.

Obviously, it turns out there are more…and that makes us curious which other characters might make an appearance in the comic, but not on the cover.

Oni Press publisher Hunter Gorinson is seemingly pretty excited about the development, reposting Conroy’s missive with “eyeball” emojis.

Other variants for Boss Battle include a Horvath cover featuring The Joker and Samantha, and a Darick Robertson cover showing Superman facing off against Homelander from The Boys. Robertson, of course, co-created The Boys, along with other iconic creator-owned titles like Transmetropolitan and Happy!.
