A month before it’s set to begin, Marvel has revealed how the new Amazing Spider-Man/Venom crossover “Death Spiral” will conclude: with Peter Parker becoming the Amazing Spider-Carnage. Marvel dropped the following teaser image for Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness‘s Amazing Spider-Man #27, which will conclude the event this April:

This is not the first time a version of Peter has become Spider-Carnage, as his clone Ben Reilly bonded with the symbiote to stop it from harming anyone else in 1996’s Amazing Spider-Man #410. A corrupt variant of Peter as Carnage from another universe subsequently appeared on the series finale of Spider-Man: The Animated Series in 1998. In any case, it will mark the first time Earth-616’s Peter, the original Spider-Man and wearer of the Venom suit, has hosted the psychotic symbiote.

Kicking off with an eponymous one-shot by Kelly, Al Ewing (Venom), Charles Soule (Eddie Brock: Carnage), and Jesús Saíz on February 25, “Death Spiral” will see Peter, Mary Jane/Venom, and Eddie/Carnage face off against the new villain and serial killer Torment. It will continue through the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #23-26 and Venom #255-257, before concluding with ASM #27 on April 22.
