The first 155 chapters of Eiichiro Oda’s epic pirate manga, One Piece, will be free to read on the Shonen Jump App from now until April 10—making it the perfect time to jump into the iconic series.
One Piece follows captain Monkey D. Luffy and his swashbuckling crew on their search for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece. The manga debuted in Japan in 1997, and has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump ever since. Viz Media has published English-language translations in North America and the UK since 2002.
As of February 10, there are 1,173 chapters of One Piece available in the Shonen Jump App, and Viz Media has published 110 print volumes. It is the best-selling manga in history and holds the Guiness World Record for the most copies published for the same comic by a single writer/artist.
Of course, One Piece has also been adapted for other types of media. The anime series has run since 1999 with 1,155 episodes to date, and Toei Animation has additionally released 14 animated feature films over the last 27 years. Netflix debuted a live-action adaptation of the series in 2023, and Season 2 debuts on March 10.
