Fans of cult-hit anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt have reason to celebrate—Studio TRIGGER’s long-awaited sequel, New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, will begin streaming globally on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video.
First airing in 2010, the original Panty & Stocking carved a legacy as a wildly unfiltered, genre-bending series blending anime and Western cartoon sensibilities. Now, after a 15-year hiatus, the irreverent angel sisters are back with all-new chaotic energy, two mysterious new characters, Polyester and Polyurethane, and an updated cast and crew reuniting many of the original creatives.
Key Visual, PV, and Premiere Details Revealed
Alongside the release date, Studio TRIGGER unveiled a vibrant new key visual and main promotional video (PV) showcasing the show’s signature high-octane action and raunchy humor. The PV teases even more over-the-top antics from the titular angels and a glimpse at the expanded universe.
To celebrate the new season, New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt will host its world premiere at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles. The premiere event, which is 18+ only, will be held at the Peacock Theater on July 4 at 8:30 PM, featuring special guests including director Hiroyuki Imaishi, producer Hiromi Wakabayashi, and character designer Shigeto Koyama.

What to Expect from the New Series
Set in the chaotic realm of Daten City—caught between heaven and hell—the series follows the provocative angel sisters Panty and Stocking as they battle twisted ghosts born from human vices. But their true identities and loyalties are anything but pure.
The sequel series promises to up the ante, blending “hyper-crazy battle action” with twisted comedy and stylish animation. Longtime fans will recognize returning characters like Garterbelt, Brief, Chuck, and demon sisters Scanty & Kneesocks, now joined by the newcomers Polyester and Polyurethane.
Stellar Creative Team and Music Lineup
Studio TRIGGER has brought back an all-star team for the revival. Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill, Promare) directs, with co-direction from Hiromi Wakabayashi and Akira Furukawa.
