DMM.com LLC has officially announced that KILL BLUE, the hit manga by Kuroko’s Basketball creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki, is getting an anime adaptation set to premiere in 2026. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and promotional video were revealed, offering fans their first look at the action-packed, offbeat series.

At the center of KILL BLUE is Jūzō Ōgami, a feared assassin who has never failed a mission. But his life takes a bizarre turn when he’s stung by a mysterious wasp and suddenly finds himself transformed into a 13-year-old. Ordered to infiltrate a middle school, Jūzō must juggle awkward classrooms, eccentric classmates, and dangerous assassins, all while fighting to regain his former life. The result is a high-energy mix of violent clashes and adolescent absurdity.

The adaptation brings together an experienced creative team:

  • Director: Hiro Kaburagi (Great Pretender, Kimi ni Todoke)

  • Character Design: Miho Daidōji (Kuroko’s Basketball, Kimi ni Todoke 3rd Season)

  • Animation Production: CUE

Fujimaki expressed his excitement about the project, saying:

“I am deeply grateful to all the readers who have supported KILL BLUE. Seeing Jūzō’s strange new school life brought to animation is a dream come true. Please look forward to the anime in 2026!”

Originally serialized in Shonen Jump, KILL BLUE currently has 10 volumes published, with Volume 11 set to release on September 4, 2025. The series combines razor-sharp action, sharp humor, and the chaotic charm of middle school life, making it one of the most unique upcoming anime adaptations on the horizon.
