It’s Jeff the Land Shark’s world, and we’re just living in it. The beloved Marvel superstar is returning for another limited series at the House of Ideas, one where the four-legged shark becomes a celebrity of intergalactic proportions. Thursday, Marvel announced Jeff the Land Shark: Superstar a five-issue limited series from character co-creator Kelly Thompson and rising star artist Tokitokoro.
The series features Jeff the Land Shark and Ken the Septapus joining forces on a buddy roadtrip that sees them become stars of a new TV show produced by Mojo. The publisher also teased an all-new cast of X-Men characters created by the long-time mutant villain.
“Jeff’s second ever mini-series Superstar will find Jeff becoming an intergalactic celebrity, but at what cost?” Thompson said in a press release promoting the new series. “Chaos ensues as we mash together classic allies, old enemies, new friends, and heroic acts for a galaxy-spanning adventure.”
Though select details are still be kept close to the chest, Marvel did reveal the names of some of the X-Men, including Dazzle Storm, MagikHot, Wolverine-Man, and Rambit.
First debuting in Marvel’s West Coast Avengers series from Thompson and Daniele di Nicuolo in 2019, Jeff the Land Shark has become beloved by fans in the years since. He even makes his appearance as a playable character in NetEase’s wildly popular Marvel Rivals game.
Written by Thompson and drawn by Tokitokoro, the five-issue limited series will feature covers by Gurihiru. The first issue is currently scheduled to hit the shelves at your local comic store on Wednesday, July 8th.
